1 to 1 1/2 oz per 10,000 gallons of water per day.
10 oz per 10,000 gallons of water every 2 weeks.
11 oz per 10,000 gallons of water every week.
- Initially the pool should be treated with repeated dosages of 1 to 1-1/2 ounces of this product for each 10,000 gallons of pool water to satisfy the chlorine demand of the water.
- 1 ounce of this product per 10,000 gallons of water will apply approximately 0.5 ppm available chlorine.
- To maintain a desired level of 1.5 to 2.0 ppm of chlorine residual, add 1 to 1-1/2 ounces of this product for each 10,000 gallons of water daily or as needed.
- Once every 2 weeks a shock dose of 5 ppm of chlorine should be made to prevent development of residual species of algae.
For super chlorination add 11 ounces of this product per 10,000 gallons of water, at least once a week, especially during excessive heat, when bathing loads are high, when water becomes dull looking or hazy, when there is a "chlorine" like smell or excessive eye irritation, or after heavy rains.

Pool turned green
We have been using this product for a month or so and we have never had such trouble. We shock our pool once a week it was completed clear prior to using this and the pool turned completely green right after shocking it.
Thank you for the feedback. We have had good success through the years using Zip Chlor. Anytime water turns green after shocking, we worry about minerals like iron from well water or, worse yet, copper from the heat exchanger if you have a gas heater. If either of those are present, water will turn green after chlorine is raised to a high level. The most common reason we have found copper to be in the water is from low pH, often caused by rain. Low pH will erode the copper from your heat exchanger. Anyway, if you see this reaction again, it would be a good time to do a thorough testing of the water to ensure that isn't the problem. Hope that helps.
I use this as my pool shock and it works well. Pool geek delivered it fast and at a good price.
