My husband had decided to hire someone to take over the pool care at our home. At the time, he was spending around $50 per week fighting continual algae problems. I took over the pool in June, 2010, and began to research the cause of the algae. As I discovered, phosphates feed the algae and this was the product I chose to rid our pool of the phosphates. It was amazing. I gave it a big dose of Phosfree in the beginning and now treat the pool weekly in the summer and bi-weekly in the winter with the maintenance amount of the product. No more algae and no shock or any other algae treatments have been needed since last June. And, the pool looks fabulous. Phosfree is the best kept secret in the pool supply store.

Works Like Magic!

I have struggled with algae and greyish-green water all Summer long this year. On advice from my pool store, I tried a variety of algaecides and sanitizers in various combinations and strengths. But all summer long, within a couple of days of algaecide and shock treatment -- the green was back. I was on the verge of giving up and completley draining and flushing our pool when I found information on the Geek site about the relationship between phosphate and algae. I had a phosphate check done at my pool store and they said the level was about 300, but that shouldn't be the source of the problem. Well, I sent for Phosfree anyway and decided to try one more time. I treated the pool again with algaecide and shock, vacuumed the dead algae off the bottom, added a clarifier, and then, a day later, added Phosfree. Literally within 30 minutes of adding it the pool water started clearing and by the next morning was shining, crystal clear -- just like it had been when we opened the pool in the spring. I'm hoping that phosphate was the source of my problem, and that the Phosfree treatment continues to be the solution. Right now, I'm a believer!! This stuff is magic.

This stuff is awesome...

If you have high levels of phosphates in your water you have a breeding ground for algae. I learned this the hard way. Phosphates get into the water from organic material like leaves or from man-made sources like lawn and tree fertilizers. Even some pool chemicals contain phosphoric acid. Phosphates are algae food. I had phosphate levels of 2500 PPB and algae that I could not kill permanently. Then I found Phosfree. I got a phosphate test kit to see if it really worked. It did. This product took my phosphate levels all the way to zero. No phosphates, no algae. Might be the single most important water additive in my arsenal.

Tech Specs
Chemical Type: Phosphate Remover
Brand: Natural Chemistry Pool
