I've had this pump with an attached automatic sensor for 5 years. It has been impressively durable and I am only now needing to replace it because my puppy chewed the electrical cord in half. The only complaint I have with it relates to the general design. Because the hose outlet sticks straight up the hose over time gets kinked, creating problems for the water that's being pumped. This time around, I've stuck with Little Giant and purchased their more recent design with 1700 GPH pumping rate.
