It is highly effective at controlling plaster dust during pool start-ups, and is compatible with all sanitizer systems, including saltwater systems. In fact, using The Magenta Stuff will actually help extend the life of saltwater pool's chlorine generators by keeping scale at bay. Copper Stains

I purchase the magenta stuff for my 13K gallon pool followed your instruction to add 1 and 1/2 quarts to water and then 8oz per week. Third week and no noticable changes, should I add another quart? Pool is Chlorine and we did use a test kit to find out it was copper from our pool heater. Any suggestions? Email thebev1@comcast.net or cell 713 299 3560. Really want to get rid of stains, if this is a long process and stains will begin to fade just give me some kind of expectation. Regards Bev Ramirez

Hello Beverly! The Magenta Stuff is more of a prevention treatment that also slowly removes existing stains. If you are sure that copper is the problem, we would recommend using Jack's Magic Stain Solution #2, otherwise known as The Copper & Scale Stuff. It is much more effective at removing existing copper stains then The Magenta Stuff. If you would like to double-check to make sure copper is the problem, you could use the Jack's Magic Stain ID Kit. Follow the links below to take a look at Stain Solution #2 as well as the Stain ID Kit: Jack’s Magic Stain Solution 2 / Jack’s Magic Stain IDentification Kit.

There is a white staining occuring over the pebble tec surface of my pool. It seems to be on the lower half of the walls and on the bottom of the pool. Chlorine and pH levels within range. I have had problems with algea and stabalizing the chlorine levels in the past. Someone recommended Jack's Magic - Magenta stuff. Add 2 quarts and let the pump run for 48 hours - brush the pool sides and bottom occasionaly. Thoughts?

Hello! We would probably guess that it is calcium buildup. We would recommend checking your calcium hardness levels. If calcium buildup is the case, Jack's Magic The Magenta Stuff should help remove the scale. Make sure you follow the directions on the bottle carefully. If your calcium hardness is too high (causing the stains) your only option is to use chemicals to prevent the build up.

Will this take the roughness off the sides? We have a salt generator. What will ascorbic acid do? Is that an option? Reta

Hello! If you have scale, we would recommend using BioGuard Scale Inhibitor. You will also want to make sure that your pH and alkalinity are balanced.
