HTH Winterizing Shock

Shock Treatment:  14-28 oz. per 10,000 gallons of pool water weekly.

Winterizing:  42 oz. per 10,000 gallons of pool water.

Use this product to protect your pool against bacteria, algae, and other organic contaminants during the long winter months.

How To Use:

1. Add the recommended dosage of this product during evening hours while the filter is running. 
2. When adding this product to your pool, broadcast the product evenly over a wide area in the deep end of your pool. 
3. Use a clean, dry scoop or lid to measure this product. 
4. Do not use this scoop for any other purpose. 
5. Use entire contents of bottle when opened.  I
6. f any granules settle on the pool bottom, use a brush to disperse them.

Water Balance:

1. For best results, maintain a pH level of of 7.2 to 7.6, total alkalinity in the range of 60 to 100 ppm, and a calcium hardness level above 200 ppm. 
2. Use a reliable test kit to measure all these ranges. 
3. Use HTH Pool Care Products to make adjustments. 
4. Follow label directions for each product. 
5. Do not enter pool until the free available chlorine residual is 1-4 ppm.

Pool Shock Treatment:

1. Add the recommended dosages of this product while the filter pump is running. 
2. Adjust the pH with either HTH pH Plus or Minus, depending on the test results. 
3. Allow these adjusters to dissolve and disperse before adding this product. 
4. When adding this product, broadcast it evenly over a wide area in the deep end of your pool. 

For best results, see Water Balance and How To Use section above before treatment.  Every 7 days, or as necessary to prevent pool problems, shock treat/superchlorinate the pool by adding 14-28 ounces of this product per 10,000 gallons of water to create 5 to 10 ppm available chlorine.  Additional shock treatments may be required to correct problems which are caused by visible algae, high swimmer loads, heavy wind, or rainstorms.  Additional shock treatments may also be needed to remove any foul odors and eye irritation.  Check the available chlorine with a suitable test kit.  Do not reenter your pool until the chlorine residual is 1-4 ppm.

Winterizing:

1. For best results, see Water Balance section above before treatment. 
2. While the water is still clean and clear, prepare for long periods of disuse by gradually add 42 ounces of this product per 10,000 gallons of pool water, providing you with  a 15 ppm free available chlorine residual. 
3. Follow how to use section above. 
4. Run the filter until the granules are completely dissolved. 
5. Cover the pool with a plastic pool cover. 
6. Prepare the heater and filter components for winterizing by following the manufacturers directions.
