Worked great

I struggled with algae all spring and erly summer. I was shocking weekly and had 3 floating chlorinators. I was constantly brushing the pool and changing the filter. I treated with black algae killer twice already! After a week or two the algae came back. I saw this 3 month algae control and thought I would try it. I have a 25K gal pool and dumped the whole bottle in. It is amazing. I have not had to brush the pool, or change the filter since. I have not even shocked the pool. I just keep 2-3 tabs in the floating chlorinator and even the black algae has gone away! When I test my cholrine, it is so high it is orange. Some how this product is keeping the chlorine very stable and high even with the 105 degree temps here in Texas. I only paid $15 for it at Walmart and they are now out. The water is crystal clear and no foam and no chlorine smell. It has been almost 2 months now and it is still working and I still have not had to even backwash the filter. I have really enjoyed my pool since I started using it. I just wonder what is in it.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. I applied dose per directions and found that it formed a green slime on the tile that was similar to tar. I ended up using a pputty knife and spray on chlorine over several days to remove this stuff. At first I thought that it was my pool chemistry that was the issue, but after being free of the residue for several months, I gave another dose and the next day had the slime. What a disaster. I can only imagine that this stuff is clogging my filter cartridges.

Directions

Initial Dose:

Add 4 ounces of this product to 10,000 gallons of pool water when filling your pool at the beginning of the season.

Maintenance Dose:

Add 1 ounce of this product per 10,000 gallons of pool water at 3-5 day intervals.
If high temperatures prevail or the pool has unusually high swimmer loads, add maintenance dose as needed.
If make up water is added at the rate of more than 10% of pool capacity per week, add 1 ounce per 10,000 gallons of fresh make up water adder per week.

Visible Algae:

If the pool has light visible algae growth, treat with Initial Dose described above.
Vacuum pool after 24 hours to remove algae debris.
If visible algae is still present or re-appears, repeat this treatment as needed.
When pool is free of visible algae, use the maintenance dose described above.

4 oz. per 10,000 gallons of pool water.

Maintenance Dose

1 oz. per 10,000 gallons of pool water every 3-5 days.

Visible Algae Dose

4 oz. with visible algae, and 1 oz. after it disappears.
