Pre-Treatment Checklist:
1. Ensure all pool equipment is working properly.
2. Backwash the filter system following manufacturer's directions.
3. Adjust pH to between 7.2 to 7.6.
4. Check for metals and if present, add a stain and scale inhibitor before using this product.
Note: When using other products as outlined in the directions for this product, always follow the directions on those products.
Dosage Instructions:
1. Use one pound of this product per 6,000 gallons of pool water.
2. Broadcast directly into the water in the deep end of the pool.
3. To prevent damage to the pool surfaces, use a pool brush to disperse any undissolved granules which may have settled on the pool bottom.
4. Circulate water for several hours or preferably overnight, then apply an effective winter algae preventative by following its directions.
5. Turn pump off. Drain equipment or add suitable swimming pool antifreeze to prevent equipment damage. Follow equipment manufacturer's directions. Installation of a pool cover is highly recommended.
A second treatment of this product is necessary if mesh-covered or uncovered throughout the winter season
For this application, the product should be pre-dissolved in a clean plastic bucket of water, and the resulting solution poured into the pool as far away from the side as is practical. Always add this product to cool, clean water. Never add water to this product.
**Reentry into treated swimming pools is prohibited above levels of 3 ppm chlorine or 8 ppm bromine due to risk of bodily injury.**
