Stain removal is a multi-step process, which will require several days to complete. Stain Remover is most effective at removing and preventing the reoccurrence of stains when used with BioGuard Pool Magnet Plus and BioGuard Sparkle Up filter aid. Do not use BioGuard Stain Remover on acrylic spa surfaces. Do not allow swimming in the pool during this process. 1. Adjust balance of pool water to the following: pH 7.0-7.4, total alkalinity 125 to 150 ppm, calcium hardness less than 400 ppm. 2. Adjust chlorine or bromine residual to less than 1 ppm. USe BioGuard Chem-Out if necessary to reduce the residual of chlorine or bromine. For the next 36 hours, the quantity of sanitizer added should be reduced to maintain a chlorine or bromine residual of less than 1.0 ppm. 3. Determine the appropriate dosage for your pool volume and stain condition: 4. Determine the appropriate dosage of Pool Magnet Plus (or SoftSwim Stain Control if treating SoftSwim pool) for your pool volume. The application rate is 1 quart per 10,000 gallons. 5. Wearing gloves and safety glasses/goggles, predissolve BioGuard Stain Remover by adding this product to water in a clean plastic pail. Always add product to water. Never add water to the product. Use approximately 4 gallons of water for each pound of this product. Use a plastic or wooden utensil to stir the mixture. 6. With the circulation pump running, pour mixture into pool water around the edges of the pool. 7. Allow the pool water to circulate for 1 hour. Then apply the proper dosage of PoolMagnet Plus (or SoftSwim Stain Control if treating a SoftSwim pool) per label directions. 8. Allow pool water to circulate for 4 to 8 hours. 9. Apply Sparkle-Up to filter per label directions and your filter type and size. 10. Continue to circulate the pool for 24 additional hours. 11. Remove Sparkle-Up from filter by backwashing or removing grids or cartridge. 12. Test pool water and adjust water balance items and sanitizer to the following: pH 7.4-7.6, total alkalinity 125-150 ppm, chlorine or bromine to residual specified on your sanitizer product. Do not apply a shock product to the pool water for 4 days following completion of step 12.
