Product Brand:     BioGuard
Product Information
BioGuard Silk Tabs and Silk Sticks are revolutionary new products exclusive to BioGuard and the first sanitizer made with SilkGuard Technology. These products differ from traditional chlorine because their special additives actually soften the water by attaching to hard water components and metal surfaces, which protects your pool equipment from scale, corrosion and staining, all while killing bacteria. These slow dissolving sanitizers contain SunShield Technology so that chlorine is protected from sunlight for long-lasting sanitation of pool water.
Dosage

Start-Up/Initial Treatment: 16 oz. per 10,000 gallons.

Routine Maintenance: 16 oz. per 10,000 gallons per week, or as often as needed.

Sunlight, rainfall, temperature, number of swimmers, and frequency of pool use affect the rate of chlorine residual loss so check the floater, feeder or skimmer often and refill as needed.

Ingredients

This product is a blend of chlorine, algaecides, sanitizers, and sunshield all in one product.

Product Use

This is step one in Bioguard 3 step program. When used with a pool shock and algaecide you are virtually guaranteed a clean and clear pool.

Directions

Before you begin:

1. Ensure all pool equipment is working properly.  Adjust stabilizer levels to 40-50 ppm with stabilizer.

2. Test your waters pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness and adjust to the correct level.  Adjust pH to 7.2-7.6, adjust alkalinity to 80-125 ppm for plaster pools and 125-150 ppm for vinyl or fiberglass pools, adjust calcium hardness to 200-275 ppm for plaster pools and 175-225 ppm for vinyl or fiberglass pools.  Be sure to follow label directions when using other products as outline in directions for this product

3. Check the free available chlorine level and adjust to 1-3 ppm by adding a granular chlorinating product.

Start-Up/Initial Treatment:

1. If water is cloudy or green, superchlorinate pool with appropriate shock product until pool is clear.

2. If using a feeder or floater add 16 oz. of this product per 10,000 gallons of pool water to feeder or floater and then test for free available chlorine. (allow water to circulate at leat 4 hours before testing). Adjust the feeder or floater following manufacturers instructions to establish a free chlorine level between 1-3 ppm.

3. If using plastic skimmer add 16 oz. of this product per 10,000 gallons of water and test for free available chlorine (allow water to circulate at least 4 hours before testing), adding more tablets as necessary to establish a free available chlorine level of 1-3 ppm.

4. When free available chlorine level is adjusted to 1-3 ppm, add the algaecide appropriate to your needs.

Routine Maintenance: Add 16 oz. of this product per 10,000 gallons of water  per week, or as often as needed, to the floater, feeder or skimmer to maintain a constant free available chlorine level of 1-3 ppm.

Very Nice
There is a definite difference to the feel of the pool water between smart sticks and these silk sticks. The silk sticks really do create a softer feel to the water. Very easy to use; put them in the automatic chlorinator once a week and that's it.
