Product Use
Designed for pool from 5,000 to 18,000 Gallons of Water. Use this kit to quickly get your pool up and running, while its included products will provide you with an excellent foundation to build your pool maintenance on. The following BioGuard products are included in this kit.
- Algaecide 28-10 (1 qt)
- 4 Way Test Strips (1 bottle of 10 strips)
- Polysheen Blue (4 oz)
- Smart Sticks (4 sticks that are 8 oz each)
- Smart Shock (3 bags that are 1 lb each)

Directions
- Ensure all pool equipment is assembled and working properly.
- It is ideal to start with a clean filter. If you filter is not new or has not been cleaned recently, it is recommended that you use Strip Kwik to remove any contaminants from the filter elements. Follow the label instructions on that product for proper dosage.
- Using the pool test strips, check your pool's chloorine residual.
- The chlorine residual should be between 1 to 3 parts per million (ppm) and the pH range should be within 7.2 to 7.6. Adjust pH levels if necessary using Balance Pak 200 (not included) to raise pH or Lo 'N Slo (not included) to lower pH. The chlorine residual will be adjusted through products added in Step 5.
- Add the following amounts of the Pool Start Up Kit products per 5,000 gallons of pool water:
- Add 1 Smart Stick to pool skimmer basket.
- Add 12.5 ounces of Algaecide 28-10.
- Add 1 ounce of Polysheen Blue.
- Add 6.7 ounces of Smart Shock.
- Operate the pump and filter continuously for 8 hours.
Wait at least 15 minutes after adding these products before entering the pool. Test the chlorine residual and do not enter pool until the residual is between 1 and 4 ppm.
